For the fourth year in a row, this year, I will be one of the instructors at Tekcamp.
Here is last year’s team photo! Traditionally TEKcamp is held in July and, as you can see from the photo, we enjoyed glorious summer weather. TEKcamp 2015 runs from 13-17th July and you can find more info on the TEKcamp website.
Tekcamp is a truly unique opportunity for tec divers, instructors and recreational divers looking to get into tec to come along to a week or inwater and land based workshops with some of the most experienced tec instructors trainers in the world.
Last year we ran sessions on fining techniques, improving trim and buoyancy, OC and CCR emergency drills, line laying, tec rescue, multi-stage handling and underwater surveying. Divers had a go at sidemount, rebreather and DPV diving and listened to talks on exploration and adventure. On top of this, several manufacturers supported the event with equipment to try during the dives and prizes for the end of week Prize Draw.
So, who goes to TEKcamp and why?
Divers who are thinking about tec diving – come along and try out loads of kit, learn some basic techniques and get advice from top tec instructors.
Tec divers – Fine tune your skills, try other kinds of kit, get a taste of more advanced skills and courses.
Tec Instructors – work with experienced instructor trainers to really perfect your own tec diving and teaching skills, or try out types of diving and equipment you haven’t had a go at yet.
If you would like to come along, check out the TEKcamp website for more information – See you there?
