Scrubber Canister Packer Practical Application

Are you a PADI Rebreather Instructor or are you planning to become one? If so, we want you to be the first to hear about the latest update:

The PADI Rebreather Diver and Advanced Rebreather Diver courses were launched in 2011 for rebreathers with pre or pro packed scrubbers.

Since then things have changed a little so if you didn’t see our earlier post check it out here https://tecrec.padi.com/2014/03/10/type-r-rebreather-requirements-update/.

Following on from the changes to our Type R requirements, there is a requirement to teach divers how to pack scrubber canisters on units where a manufacturer user packable option is available. This takes the form of an additional Practical Application for the PADI Rebreather Diver Course, which can also be run retrospectively for students who have already completed a course.

If you are a PADI Rebreather Instructor on a Type R rebreather which has a manufacturer approved self-packable scrubber (currently the AP Diving Evo/Inspo Rec or Hollis Explorer) and would like to be one of the first to teach this, prior to its official release, please contact us at rebreather@padi.com so that we can send you the relevant information.

If you have any questions regarding this process please contact us at rebreather@padi.com,
