World’s first PADI Tec CCR Instructors and Trainers

PADI Rebreather Instructor candidates

The first ever PADI Tec CCR Instructor and Trainer programme was recently held in Puerto Galera, Philippines. The courses were run by the designated Instructor Trainer Vikki Batten and they proofed to be challenging but yet very rewarding. Thanks to La Laguna Beach Club, a PADI TecRec center, who provided fantastic logistical support during the programme. PADI has two recreational rebreather courses, the PADI Rebreather Diver and the PADI Advanced Rebreather Diver which are taught by PADI Rebreather Instructors. There are three technical rebreather courses, the Tec 40 CCR (air diluent), the Tec 60 CCR (non-hypoxic trimix) and the Tec 100 CCR (full trimix) with corresponding instructor/trainer ratings.

During the course, participants were able to gain multiple certifications by either completing the instructor course or by crossing their current credentials from other training organisations over to PADI. All courses included in-water workshops, skill demonstrations and teaching presentation plus several knowledge development portions.

Now certified with their respective credentials are Paul Neilsen (Philippines), Bibian Wong (Hong Kong), McGill Cheng (Taiwan), Cyril Kwan (Hong Kong), Scott Livingston (Philippines), Siegfried Ruhland (China), Dan Macherel (Australia) and Thomas Knedlik (Australia). Congratulations to all new instructors and trainers. Please contact them directly for your training needs.

PADI Asia Pacific will be running an additional PADI Rebreather and Tec CCR Instructor and Trainer programme in Phuket, Thailand from the 4th of June until the 12th of June. If you wish to attend or enquire about the courses please contact us via email at tecrec@padi.com.au. The registration form for the courses can be found here.
