Junya Kato has just been appointed a Technical Consultant with the PADI Technical Diving Division. When he became a PADI Divemaster in 2003 his main job was to guide divers on the ship wreck “Rainbow Warrior” in Bay Of Islands, New Zealand. This experience made him interested in wreck diving. After he joined PADI Asia Pacific as an Educational Consultant in 2006 he became interested in technical diving and built up his experience to Tec Trimix over the next few years. He is now a PADI Course Director and Tec Deep Instructor Trainer.

Junya enjoys Sydney wrecks in the range of 20 to 75 metres and underwater photography.

In August 2011, he purchased a JJ-CCR and has started a trimix course recently. He is now keen to start exploring the Sydney Wrecks with his CCR.
