Training Staff & Directors from the PADI Regional Head Quarters in Sydney completed the PADI Rebreather Diver course beta testing last month on the Poseidon Discovery. Dive one in the confined water progressed smoothly with students learning about unit assembly, preparation & unit start up followed by mastering skills in the pool such as bailing out, maintaining minimum loop volume, hovering, descents & ascents. The open water training progressed smoothly with the students applying the skills learnt in the pool to the real world diving environment. Following the course the staff quickly organised some pleasure dives to put their training into action.
The exposure to closed circuit diving had been minimal within the group so it was great to see the interest and excitement that this new level of training creates.
