TecRec Instructor Trainer Crossover Feedback – Part 3

On 16th March PADI completed the first orientation program for Instructor Trainers in the PADI TecRec system. Now the staff and participants speak out about this landmark program.

Alex Boulton:

PADI Asia Pacific Technical Consultant, PADI Technical Diving Division:

B.A. (Hons) Cert IV Training & Assessment

Gathering together a cadre of Technical Trainers that work, live & breathe technical diving is an extremely productive event.  It was clear from the responses of the Trainers that having evaluation tools that are precise & defendable is a powerful asset when assessing technical instructor development. So it was a privilege to work with these individuals and provide them with the benefits of an instructional design framework that will increase their capabilities as Technical Instructor Trainers in this logistically challenging discipline.

Dan Macherel:

PADI Asia Pacific Technical Consultant, PADI Technical Diving Division

Dip IHM, DMT RAH, Cert IV HO

It was awesome to be involved in the first PADI TecRec Instructor Trainer crossover program and to see the participants’ enthusiasm develop regarding PADI TecRec generally.

The conducive two-day crossover cultivated a Tec diving spirit between all the participants and the two-way communication we encouraged as staff help to identify the importance of the skills required by TecRec students and the evaluation skills needed by the trainers alike.

The high level of experience and professionalism exhibited by the new PADI TecRec Instructor Trainers graduating from the program will most definitely contribute to successful unveiling of the fantastic potential of the PADI TecRec programmes on the horizon.
