The interest in sidemount diving seems to be continuing to grow across the UK as a viable alternative to twinset diving not only in the technical disciplines, but also just as a recreational alternative to a single cylinder.  PADI 5 star IDC Centre Triton Scuba have now run several successful programmes, with more in the pipeline; the latest course conducted at Vobster Quay saw 7 new sidemount divers taking to the water, 5 of whom went on to undertake instructor cross-over programmes.  The interest has been from across the board, from PADI Instructors wanting to increase their portfolio of specialities that they can offer their customers, to seasoned technical instructors looking for an alternative to back breaking twin sets.  The feedback from everyone has been extremely positive and many have now “crossed over” to sides for good.  Triton have a regular programme of sidemount courses and tec courses using sidemounts up to instructor level throughout the year and course can be conducted around the country for sufficient numbers.  Contact David on 02392 838773 to find out more.
