It’s 30 days to EUROTEK 2012 and tickets are quickly selling out.  If you want to ensure your place at this bi-annual advanced and technical diving conference you need to book now, or you could well end up very disappointed. Held on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October 2012 in Halls 6, 9, 10 and 11 at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham, England; EUROTEK has proved popular with advanced divers but you don’t need to be a techie diver to attend this, just a diver wanting to get more out of your diving.  Many major names connected with technical diving attend this event, with divers travelling from more than 20 different countries to take part.

This year’s speakers include; Dr Petar Denoble, Dr Andrew Fock, Jill Heinerth, Brian Kakuk, Evan Kovacs, Richard Lundgren, Michael Menduno, Pete Mesley, Professor Simon Mitchell, Martin Robson, Dr Arne Sieber and Rick Stanton.

During the two days 40 talks are given.  Amongst the topics up for discussion this year are; ‘Rescue of an unconscious diver at depth (the new UHMS Diving Committee Guidelines)’, ‘Diving with living dinosaur’s; Coelacanths’, ‘Deep Stops – Deep Trouble?’, ‘Mars the Magnificent’, ‘We are Water’, ‘Exploring Bahamian Blue Holes’, ‘Operational Safety’, 3D in Deep Ocean and Caves’ and ‘Oxygen Sensors’.

EUROTEK.2012 is the first advanced diving conference to be held post Rebreather Forum 3.  (X-Ray ran a full report on this safety conference in the last edition).  RF3 culminated in generating a series of consensus statements on wide ranging topics related to improving rebreather safety.  The ET.12 Rebreather Panel led by Professor Simon Mitchell will discuss these consensus statements. This session is a ‘must attend’ for all rebreather instructors and IT’s who couldn’t get to RF3, and the perfect opportunity for you to get up to speed with current thinking in rebreather technology, from the industry’s foremost minds.

The Diving Industry has been very generous with their support, with sponsorship from Ambient Pressure Diving, DiveLife, Fourth Element, Light Monkey and Suunto.  This has enabled more than 35 specialist companies to exhibit.
