Red Sea TecRec Forum
Following on from the recent success of DSAT Technical Diving Division events conducted in the USA, Australia, UK and elsewhere, the TDD has announced a DSAT TecRec forum to be held on the shores of the Red Sea in El Gouna, Egypt. The event is scheduled to take place at the Steigenberger Hotel on the afternoon of the 27th July 2009.
Registration will be from 1230 and the event will start at 1300. DSAT Instructors and tech enthusiasts are welcome to join the event which will last through the morning and early afternoon. It is also hoped to get as many DSAT tec divers in the water to dive the following day, on the world famous Rosalie Moller.
Mark Caney, TDD Director, Rebreather Technologies and Terry Johnson, TDD Consultant, PADI International Ltd, will be present to host the event. Presentations at the forum will focus on feedback from the field relating to the structure of the Tec Deep Diver course and proposed course revisions built on these recommendations from the field. There will be guest presentations from technical experts teaching and working in Egypt.
To ensure a place at the event, send your name and member number to education@padi.co.uk stating that you want to book on the TecRec forum of 27th July.

Shame its in El Gouna as its easier to get to Sharm , Dahab or Hurghada.
Ill have to start researching on how to get there from Jordan!

Thanks for the info Nickolai,
I was envisaging a flight to Amman then to Cairo then Luxor and road trip to El Gouna!!
Easy for me to get to Sharm by road I can then get a ferry to Hurghada I will have to check the timetables as I dont think it runs daily but every other day shuttling over to Jeddah I think.
With this in mind I will definately make arrangments to attend also get a dive on the Rosie!
Once I have checked out the other arrangments I shall contact you and take you up on arranging a transfer for me

I wonder why not all DSAT instructor & trainers in the are are informed about the event??? A former instructor candidate had to tell me about..
Would like to participate IF the scheduling would be not at 27 July, which is the day after the IE here in Hurghada and the day where EFRI is scheduled…
Absolutely not understandable for me!

Dear Matthias
It is unfortunate that the time of the event does not fit in with your plans. The forum date was arranged to work with the schedule of the presenters, some of which do not work for PADI.
It is unfortunate that you did not receive the notification e-mail and as a result we are working at better ways to service all members in Egypt.
I hope you may be able to reschedule your programmes, as your input will be valued at the event.
Terry
